Velankanni

11. 30 AM: We walked towards the Velankanni Church. There are autos available just outside the station. We preferred walking.

12 noon: We took a room in the church premises. There are AC/ Non-AC rooms available. Opposite to the bus stop is the room booking counter. Room rent ranges from Rs. 250 to 1200/day. Rooms are neat and clean. We paid the room rent and a security deposit depending upon the room rent.

We went to the building mentioned in the bill and gave the bill to the caretaker there. He gave us the key.

3 PM: We went to the shrine basilica. It has several compartments, like main, upper, lower. It is a gigantic structure. Majestic building.

The road opposite to the main entrance of the shrine church goes to the famous building of Our Lady's Tank and Church

  1. Nice post. Adorned with lofty hill station, coastline, dense rain forests, vast plains, this south India town of Velankanni attracts thousands of travelers every year. Also, if you are planning to travel this city by air, then check out the airport near Velankanni.
